MedicalTranscription.com contracts with KC Web Media for new website rebuild | PRLog
Hello!
I was a home based independent medical transcriptionist for 13 years. Here's how I started:
While working as a secretary for a medical examiner, (a secretary who attended death scenes & assisted autopsies -- my job was to open the cranium) I requested a raise due my "extra duties". The county personnel dept head informed me that since my only marketable skill was medical transcription, my request was denied. Giving the situation some thought, I decided to start a medical transcription business on the side while continuing at the medical examiner's office. It wasn't long before I had contracted enough business to be at home with my son. I'll never forget the day I gave notice. The doctor in charge and I were eating lunch in the office, a normal practice. When I informed her of my news, she stood up, picked up her lunch tray, and dumped the entire thing into the garbage. It was right then and there that I knew I had made the right decision, and I still owe that personnel head my thanks.
